Visual Arts Ministry

The Arts Ministry at St. Francis is another way we acknowledge the grace and beauty in God’s world. Through the work of artists and photographers from the Pacific Northwest, we enhance our worship with displays in the narthex of the church. A committee made up of St. Francis members selects appropriate art and manages the displays.  Paintings, photographs and other media are typically on display for a month to six weeks. Often, the work of St. Francis parishioners is displayed. We have also displayed the works of nationally prominent artists.

The beautiful artwork on display in the narthex is by the husband-wife team, Tina Hospers and John Koster.

The works are inspired by Northwest wildlife and scenery. Tina and John utilize computer technology and laser-cutting tools to create exciting 3-D wood creations. Tina studied art and photography in college and John brings 35 years of woodcraft and construction experience to the partnership. More on the couple and their work can viewed at their website:
