St. Francis Day

Sunday, October 7th, 2018

St. Francis will be celebrating the feast day of our patron saint, St. Francis of Assisi.

St. Francis saw in all creation--animals, plants, stars, people—the beautiful evidence of God’s handiwork. We are so honored to share in the name of this beloved saint, and we all continually strive to be worthy of his name. On this day people are invited to bring their animals to church for a personal blessing during the service. It is both a fun, and yet very moving experience to have your little dog, cat, turtle or parakeet blessed and honored.

Children’s “Stuffies” can also be brought this day for a blessing.

Calling Cookie Makers!!

Sunday, October 7th, 2018

St. Francis Day, it is our tradition during the coffee hours to serve animal shaped cookies as the treats of the day. Actually, they could also be stars, trees or flowers too! We have had wonderful varieties of cookies, some frosted, some not; some gingerbread, some chocolate. We have wonderful bakers, and they take this on enthusiastically!!

Contact Jane Domagalski, and let her know as soon as possible if you are able to make a couple dozen treats.

St. Francis Knitters

January 6, Epiphany Sunday

School has started, days are a little shorter, perhaps this is a time to get the knitting needles out in preparation for the intake of baby hats. These hats are our gift to Salud Medical Clinic in Woodburn in support of their work and ministry. Patterns, sample caps, and yarns are on the bulletin board, and by the information center. If you would like to learn to knit, these are great little projects for anyone. Please contact Jane for any questions.
