Parish Life

There are some wonderfully unique ministries at St. Francis that just may catch your eye. Interested in how the church building gets upgraded? Or perhaps you love to create a perfectly balanced budget? What if you adore planning celebrations? There is a place for you here.

Our Welcoming Ministry has organized packets and  gifts for visitors, and makes sure that everyone new to the parish  is specially greeted every Sunday morning, and offered  introductions and information.

Our Hospitality Ministry amazes us with their tireless care and feeding of us  for any occasion, or just for fun. Our remodeled kitchen, designed by the  Hospitality team, enables elegant, visitor-friendly service for 10-200 people.

Our Healthy Living Ministry provides us with current information on how  to preserve health through ‘health capsules’ that are periodically  published in the Sunday bulletin, encouraging healthy habits like  exercise, by providing opportunities such as walks during Lent, guided  physical and spiritual disciplines and organized programs and resources.

Our Caring Committee attends to parishioners who are confined  to homes and hospitals, our hard-working parish leaders, and  those whose loved ones are interred in our columbarium or  gardens; they meet monthly and send cards, distribute plants and  flowers, and generally tend to the rest of us.

The work of the parish, beyond the work of the Vestry and the staff, is  managed by a Finance Committee that is dedicated to monitoring our  complicated finances, reminding us of our financial challenge to be  more generous and of our financial health.

Food in all forms can be its own ministry. Consider the following ministries that involve food:

  • Coffee Hour Hosts: Make the coffee and bring the treats for the Coffee Hour on Sunday.
  • Dinner for 8:  Join a small group for dinner once a month.
  • Guy’s Night Out:  Kick up your heels with an evening out with the boys.
  • Ladies Lunch Out:  Join in on a fun lunch date each month with women of the parish.
