We will again be knitting baby hats for the Salud Medical Clinic in Woodburn, to be given to newborns there (and to their older siblings)! The members of our Sewing Ministry have offered to make matching receiving blankets to go with some of the hats, so they could be given as a set. As you all knit the hats, please bring them to the church so the stitchers can make a matching little quilt. This is a lovely new idea. We have generous and talented folks in our knitting and sewing ministries!
We will be ingathering the baby hats, blankets, baby clothes and diapers when we celebrate Epiphany in January. Here is the YouTube link for service at 10:30 am. The bulletin is also attached.

This past Sunday, I offered an invitation in my sermon, to meet via Zoom with a group from the Clarkes United Methodist Church for an Episcopal program, entitled, “Sacred Ground Dialogue Circles.” This group will spend 10 sessions together, every two weeks, beginning on Tuesday evening, September 14, 2021 from 7:00-8:30 pm around the difficult subject of race and racism. The sessions will focus on a respectful, transformative conversation guided by films, videos, readings and the sharing of our hearts. The program has been working around the USA since 2017, but this one will involve two denominations in both a rural and suburban setting and should be very exciting. If you are interested in being part of the Sacred Ground Dialogue Circle, please contact me, as the Coordinator, by email at: [email protected]. I will have information on getting the materials to you via email and a Zoom link. Thank you for your interest, Carolynne + Fairweather |
